ExCo Meeting Greece 2016

In April 2016 four Swiss IAAS Members participated in the exchange coordinator meeting in Greece. The main goal of this meeting was to find a new strategy for the IAAS Exchange Program. The elaborated strategy then was presented during the World Congress in Indonesia the last summer 2016.

Beside the strategical part of the meeting, there was of course still enough time to get to know each other, drink a beer and experience the beautiful Greece.

Our trip to Greece started unfortunately with some problems as our flight from Switzerland suddenly was cancelled due to an airport strike in Thessaloniki. Nevertheless, never give up. After a short night in Germany we could take another plane from Stuttgart and arrived a day later than planned.

We we’re warmly welcomed in Thessaloniki.

On Friday the participants got a lot of information about the current ExCo situation and could further discuss the idea of the new ExCo strategy. Saturday and Sunday, the participants of the ExCo Meeting could join very helpful and informative seminars, which were organized by the IAAS trainer team. The seminars focused on different topics such as how to organize and plan successfully an IAAS Event or how to get in touch with future sponsors. The three first days were pretty dense, important and informative.

But of course, an IAAS event without fun and without a trade fare wouldn’t be an IAAS event. As on every trade fare, we could once more try all these different delicious meals, snacks and drinks of the different countries. Everybody was pretty satisfied after this huge dinner. The Swiss IAAS committee of course brought along the very best chocolate and cheese worldwide.

The Greece IAAS committee showed us in the second part of the week their beautiful country. The first couple of days we stayed in Thessaloniki, then moved all together more south to Volos. There we visited the city and restaurants, a sheep farm, a wheat mill and in the end we got to know the fascinating Metéora-rocks.

After seven intense days we left fascinating Greece with a lot of positive impressions. It was a great, informative time together and we made a lot of new friends. We’re really thankful for having been part of this amazing week. See you soon – Αντίο για τώρα
